Would you use the new Apple Watch to track your fitness?

We know cheerleading is strenuous and requires being in good shape, so when we heard about the fitness-tracking features on the just-announced Apple Watch, we were intrigued. We haven’t actually used a watch in years since we can just check the time on our phones, but this watch just might win us over. The watch will collect health information like your heart rate and calories burned to send to health-tracking apps. The heart rate monitor will track your heart rate even when you aren’t exercising, and it will be able to differentiate between activities like running and spinning. The watch also comes with apps to set fitness goals, record your activity, and schedule workout reminders. Some of these features are available in other fitness products, but this one will actually be able to tell if you are sitting or standing. If you’ve been sitting too long, it will tell you to stand up. You can read more about the watch’s health features and how it stacks up to other fitness trackers from The Washington Post. The Apple Watch won’t be available until early next year, and Apple says there are more features to come. We still aren’t sure if this will prompt us to start using a watch again. What do you think? Are the fitness tracking features helpful or invasive? Is the Apple Watch useful or over the top?
