Unveils Advertiser-Supported Original Programming Designed to Expand Digital and TV Presence Cheer Channel Inc. (CCI) announced a full slate of online original programming to be released throughout 2012-2013. The decision to roll out with additional shows was based on the success of CCI’s “Secret Diary of an American Cheerleader,” which ran from May 28th to July 1st. “We are very excited with the broad range of our first slate of projects, and the opportunity to work with such talented producers, writers and actors as well as advertisers to create new content in the digital space that will be a great extension of their brand and ours,” said Cindy Villarreal, CEO of CCI. “We are breaking new ground with the 2012-2013 slate of original web programs,” said Lance H. (8 episodes) (September 2012) Cheer Mashup: The bi-weekly magazine-style show that will entertain cheerleaders and fans alike with special insights, humor, and sharp commentary on everything in the world of cheerleading from World Champion Superstar, Maddie Gardner. (13 episodes) (September 2012) The Cheerleaders Guide to Life: Is a scripted comedy loosely based on the best-selling book of the same. The Cheerleaders Guide to Life takes a comic view of a fictional high school cheerleading team but dealing with real issues all girls face in this crucial time in their lives. (8 episodes) (November 2012) Cheer Weekly: Is a bi-weekly commentary show focusing more on the sport of cheerleading, bringing together groups of prominent cheerleaders, coacher, parents, and respected cheer personalities to analyze different aspects of the cheer world, as well as address the latest topics of interest and ranking during the competitive season. (November 2012) Cheer Movie Madness: Is an “Ebert and Roeper” style, bi-weekly show that debates the good and bad of the most popular and obscure cheerleading movies and television series. Irreverent, funny, clever and lots of clips. (October 2012) Shy Girl (action/thriller): Based on the world famous best selling graphic novel by Zen Publishing, Shai Rand is an athletic high school sophomore cheerleader living in Sommerville,CA… in 2041! The Daughter of two brilliant scientists, Shai is also a cheerleader, popular with a promising life ahead of her. When her parents are murdered, she finds herself chasing one of the killers through a time portal to 2012, where she finds herself back in high school, this time to get close to someone she believes was involved in her parents murder: chemistry TA Warren Havenmeyer. The only friend she has now is her great grandfather Gerry Rand, and together they seek clues to answers that are in the distant future. (January) (13 weeks) Celebrity Cheerleader Spotlight (interviews/bios): There are more than 150 actors, actresses, musicians, singers, politicians, even scientists that started out as cheerleaders. These monthly specials will interview some of the most famous that will join our host in the CCI studios to reminisce and reflect on how cheerleaders impacted their life. Presentation of the coveted Cheerleader Hall of Fame Award will be presented. (November-monthly) (5-15 minutes) FishBowl: Is a fascinating reality series in which two teams of high school freshmen cheerleaders make the sometimes difficult but always exciting and challenging transitions into their new roles from All-Stars to high school cheerleaders.
