How To Be A ‘Model’ Cheerleader

TAKE YOUR SPIRIT, SMILE & STYLE FROM THE FIELD TO THE STUDIO! Campus Teamwear is looking for enthusiastic girls age 7 years old – 19 years old, from the Southern California region, to model the latest cheerleading uniforms, warm ups, practice wear and apparel! You can apply on their official Facebook Fan Page, or you can download the Application Form and email it, along with your photo, to castingcall@cheerleadingonline.com. You don’t have to be a cheerleader, but it might come in handy to be familiar with basic cheerleading moves and stunts! Campus Teamwear will ask some of the applicants to come in for an interview, before they choose the final models. Turn in your application now, then read these tips to help you prepare for a call-back (fingers-crossed!). The only attitude you should bring is professionalism. Make sure that you plan appropriately so that you are not late to your interview. Behave respectfully; do not chew gum, use bad language or act like a diva. You don’t actually want to dress to impress. You’ll likely be asked to try on a few outfits, and will have some measurements taken. It’s best if you dress in neat, comfortable clothes that will make it easy for you to change quickly. Do some research. Browse the Campus Teamwear website so that you will be familiar with the products, and with the poses used in the past. It doesn’t hurt to plan a few poses of your own to show off! Let them know if you have any special skills. On the back of a simple photo of yourself, list the relevant cheerleading experience that you have, including cheerleading moves and tumbling skills. This “resume’ should not be any larger than 8 .5 x 11, you want to keep it short and sweet and make it easy to reference. Be nice to everybody. Being genuinely pleasant to everybody, including other people who are waiting to be interviewed, will help you avoid getting the “Thanks for coming, goodbye.” line. Be a good listener and demonstrate that you are open to suggestions for your look, including your make up and how your hair is styled. No one will want to work with a model that will not cooperate. Relax and smile! It is pretty common to be nervous, but don’t let it overshadow your confidence. You have something that stands out – that is why you got called for the interview! Don’t let nerves hold back your pep. A cheerleader without pep isn’t too photographic!
