5 Steps To Clear Skin For Cheerleading Competitions

Don’t let blemishes shake your confidence during a cheer competition routine! Cheerleading competition season can be a stressful time, even for the most organized athlete. Stress can cause beauty nightmares – from dark circles to breakouts! Look your best and keep your focus on your performance with our fresh face tips! 5 Steps To Clear Skin For Cheerleading Competitions 1. Hydrate. Drinking water isn’t just good for your health – it’s good for your skin too! Drinking lots of water will keep your skin looking young and help give it a natural glow. Properly hydrated skin will be less likely to produce dry spots, and is more likely to maintain the cheer makeup that you apply. 2. Remove Your Makeup Before Bed. Think about all the things that happen to your face during the day: makeup, sweat, heat, air pollution, touching it with your hands. You don’t want to sleep with all of that on your face (and you don’t want to get it on your pillows!). Always use a makeup-removing cleanser or wipe, followed by a moisturizer, before you hit the sheets. 3. Use Sunscreen. Sunscreen not only protects you from immediate sun damage that could leave you with patchy color spots or peeling skin, but it also means that you are protecting your skin for the future! Avoiding sun damage now will help make sure that your skin still looks clean, clear and fresh – even later in life! 4. Be Gentle. Don’t use a scrub, mask or harsh cleaner on a daily basis. Instead, make it part of a monthly routine to scrub, use pore strips and treat yourself to a spa mask. Don’t use scalding hot water to wash your face either. Lukewarm or cool water is best. 5. Skip The Foundation Sometimes. Save the foundation for special events, not for your everyday look! If you wear foundation all the time, especially during physical activity that makes you sweat (like cheerleading practice!), you can end up with clogged pores. Instead, for daily wear, use a lightweight tinted moisturizer.
