During our daily reading of the news today, we stumbled upon a story on Mashable that shocked us.

It is the story of former Green Bay Packers NFL cheerleader, Kaitlyn Collins, who has been the subject of vicious bullying by the non-NFL affiliated or operated Facebook page called Chicago Bears Fan. The Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers have an intense rivalry.

On the Facebook page, a photo of Kaitlyn was uploaded with the caption: "Like if You Agree The Packers Have The Worst Cheerleaders In The NFL!" The 1,400 comments are even worse, using foul language to degrade her and her looks. As a response, Kaitlyn responded with this video:

All of the writers and editors at Cheerleading Blog stand behind Kaitlyn! We are anti-bullying in. all. capacities. This serves as a reminder that, no matter how old or young, whether they're on the chess club or the cheer squad, anyone can be bullied. No one should have to endure this. Let's swallow harsh words, banish ugly thoughts, and say 'no' to bullying.

Kudos to Kaitlyn for being an exceptional and strong example and a role model. What a great representation of the true spirit of a cheerleader - someone that isn't afraid to lead and speak out not only for herself, but also for other people.

UPDATE (February 7):
The offending Facebook page has removed the image and posted this message, "We did not see all the posts to take down the Cheerleader pic until today. We get hundreds of messages per day and are not always on here. The issue has been resolved. Please respect one another and do not bully on this page."
