You don't have to spend a lot of money to give a thoughtful cheerleading gift. It's the thought that counts. DIY gifts are a great way to get creative (and save some dough!). Give yourself some extra time to create gifts, as they'll take longer than purchasing something.

Here are a few of our favorite ideas for DIY gifts:

A Scrapbook
Scrapbooks are great gifts for cheerleaders, parents, and coaches. You can purchase a scrapbook at a crafts store. Then, decorate it with stickers, glitter, rhinestones, etc. Print out pictures of the squad and some of the best memories of the year. You can even add fun captions below each photo.

A Personalized Megaphone
Every cheerleader needs a megaphone. Perfect as a memorable decoration, order a blank megaphone in your team or school color. Then, decorate with paint, stickers, and other fun items. Add the person's name in big letters.

A Framed Picture
Snazz up a basic frame with glitter, paint, or other details. Add in a favorite photo and voila! You have a great and thoughtful gift.

Goodie Bags
Goodie bags are great to make when you want to give each member of your squad a little something. Use small paper bags and fill each one with candy. You can also add other fun items like a mini bow keychain or a makeup compact.

Baked Goods
Everyone likes sweets, especially when they're homemade. Spend a Saturday baking goodies like brownies, peanut butter cookies, rice crispy treats, and other easily transportable treats. Make sure you know of any allergies someone may have (like peanuts or gluten). Wrap the baked goods in colorful Saran wrap and tie with ribbon.
